Fallacy:

Statist: "Force is a fact of life."

Response:

So is rape. That doesn't mean it should be accepted, encouraged and institutionalized. (KH)

No one disputes that interpersonal force occurs. Used as an objection to voluntaryism/anarchism, the true statement seems to hide some false assumptions:

1. that anarchists deny this fact
2. that compulsory "cooperation" is better than voluntary cooperation.

Actually, anarchists agree that (unfortunately) there is violent aggression in this world. We deny that monopoly government is a better remedy - does better at harm reduction - than voluntary cooperation through free markets. [HB]
